This position is responsible for performing a wide range of financial analysis and accounting duties to support the operations of Ivy’s Canadian operations. As a senior accountant in this fast-paced, private Company, you will make an immediate impact by assisting with the month-end process and the end to end accounting for Canadian operations daily. You will leverage your knowledge of full-cycle accounting and data management to provide reporting and analysis, while supporting the senior leadership team on strategic initiatives.

  • Responsible for month-end close procedures including the preparation of all month-end journal entries, variance analysis and management financial reporting as per corporate scorecard
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts to General Ledger to assess the reasonability of accruals, reviewing with Management and making necessary adjustments as required
  • Manage multiple intercompany entity’s transactions and monthly reconciliations including corporate inter-company reporting
  • Support preparation of weekly indicators, run allocations, analyze trends in sales, costs, including comparison to forecasted results. Investigate fluctuations and summarize for Management
  • Assist with annual operational budgets and rolling monthly forecasts to support operations
  • Assist with weekly Cashflow projections and working capital analysis
  • Provide support to the business through the preparation of daily, weekly and monthly flash reports
  • Prepare journal and audit employee expenses and submit for reimbursement
  • Prepare journal and reconcile monthly operation purchase card for reimbursement
  • Prepare, file, and calculate monthly HST & QST sales tax returns
  • Assist with year-end Corporate Income tax return and working papers
  • Research, document, and communicate accounting and reporting issues
  • Proactive validation for monthly: Sales & cost of sales, inventory and expenses
  • Develop processes to help speed up close times or reduce control risk
  • 4-5 years of progressive experience in accounting positions
  • Demonstrated experience in operations and accounting with well-rounded knowledge of cost accounting concepts including internal controls
  • MUST have advanced level Excel skills, including and not limited to IF, SUMIF, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Pivot Tables & Macros 
  • MUST have knowledge of SAP FICO
  • Good knowledge of GAAP and IFRS to evaluate financial reports
  • Knowledge of IBM COGNOS Business Intelligence tool is desirable
  • Experience reconciling bank accounts, accounting for inventory and working with large data sets
  • Experience working with multiple currencies and understanding of FX gains/losses
  • Experience with multiple entities and intercompany transactions
  • Strong analytical aptitude with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities
  • Team player who works effectively with limited supervision
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and excellent customer service
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet the deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with both internal and external clients
Education Requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • Enrolled and pursuing CPA designation path will be an asset
